Restoring Historical Costume

2016

In this project I chose to restore a complete outfit from the 19th century (1870-1880). The original outfit is a part of a collection displayed the Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This outfit consists of 7 layers which I fully restored using hand sewing techniques and machine sewing, Metal construction etc. This outfit consists of 40 meters of lace which made me think about the next project ( 3D Printing Lace)
